More on Elton John & Jim Carrey's duet

ROCKET MAN II

ORANGE COUNTY, CA: Elton John surprised the sold-out crowd at his Anaheim Pond concert on Saturday night (8/22) by bringing Jim Carrey on stage for a special duet version of “Rocket Man.” Carrey walked on stage in one of Sir John’s red Versace jackets adorned with silver-beaded Maltese crosses. The duo alternated lyrics to the classic Elton John hit and, above the cheers resonating from the audience it was clear that both Rocket Men can carry a tune rather well.

The idea came to Elton backstage prior to the show where he was entertaining several friends who had flown in with him for the show in addition to Jim Carrey, the group included Hugh Grant, Elizabeth Hurley and Milos Forman. A number of other celebrities drove in from Los Angeles for the concert including Michael Bergin (“Baywatch”) and Meredith Baxter Burney.

*Editor's Note: You can check JCO's review of the duet plus some new pictures of the event at the ON THE ROADsection. Also keep an eye on this area as more multimedia will be available soon.

Our very special thanks to McMullen & Company Public Relations - Elton John's PR company - for making the coverage of the event available and allowing us to reproduce it at JCO.
