Over some shrubbery

Well, it's been validated by Jim Carrey's publicist. The news is true. Carrey is set to star (with Garry Shandling as Verne) as RJ, a raccoon in a CGI animated adaptation of the popular comic strip called "Over the Hedge." The film adaptation (produced by DreamWorks) is set to be released sometime in 2005.
RJ has been described on the United Media Website as:
"A mischievous raccoon who will pick your pocket while stealing your heart. RJ is impulsive, reckless and sugar-starved. He can be caught peering into neighborhood windows trying to catch some daytime TV..." (Editor's Note: Now, I did some research on this RJ fellow, and is it just me, or does he actually look like Carrey? Back to our article...)
The other main characters of "OTH" besides RJ and Verne (a turtle) or, as they are called in the comics, the "Boyz in the Wood" are:
LUBY - RJ's raccoon girlfriend.
VELMA - Verne's turtle girlfriend.
PLUSHIE - Verne's nephew.
SAMMY - Squirrel; good friend of all the others in the woods and carrier of Tic-Tacs.
"OTH" artists are Michael Fry and T. Lewis. They have done a wonderful job of funnily bringing the issue of suburban encroachment of nature to light.
"Over the Hedge" will be directed by Tim Johnson ("Antz") from a screenplay by Len Blum ("Stripes"). Bonnie Arnold ("Toy Story") will produce.
