Landau praises Carrey's performance in "Majestic"
30 Apr 2001 Tommy Pihl found the following bit at the Internet Movie Database:
«Veteran screen star Martin Landau is adamant Jim Carrey's new movie The Majestic will prove the funnyman is one of Hollywood's top actors. [...] He explains, "He's going to raise a lot of eyebrows and surprise a lot of people. It's a pleasure to see him as a human being, a really complex character." Landau continues, "The first time I met Jim was at the premiere of The Mask. He told me he was trying to find something that would take him away from the stuff he does so well; the idea being that at the age of 60 he didn't want to still be playing zany kinds of roles." The Ed Wood star adds, "I've worked with a lot of young actors lately - John Cusack, Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey. They're all very good, but this guy is at the head of the class."»
Angelika also found another version of this interview by Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith, with a few more comments from Landau, at Beck/Smith Hollywood Exclusive:
