06 Jan 2025 By Tommy Pihl (Editor-in-Chief)
Jim Carrey has officially crossed an incredible career milestone, with his total global box office earnings now exceeding $6 billion! This achievement places him among an elite group of actors, with only 53 stars in history having reached this remarkable threshold. The milestone was clinched thanks to the ongoing success of "Sonic the Hedgehog 3", which, along with its predecessors, has helped propel Jim’s career total to new heights.
The Sonic franchise alone has contributed more than $1 billion to his impressive total, with Sonic 3 alone generating around $210 million globally. But it’s not just the Sonic films that have propelled Carrey to this achievement—his past successes have been a major factor in his box office dominance. His highest-grossing film remains "Bruce Almighty", which grossed nearly $490 million worldwide. Following closely is "Sonic the Hedgehog 2", with a global total surpassing $400 million.
Other notable hits in Jim’s career include "The Mask" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", each earning around $350 million globally. Movies like "Batman Forever" ($336 million), "A Christmas Carol" ($325 million), the first Sonic movie ($320 million) and "Liar Liar" ($303 million) also contributed to his remarkable legacy as one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars.
In his prime, Jim was commanding paydays of over $20 million per film, and with this latest milestone, it's clear that his influence on the box office is still going strong. His incredible range and consistent ability to draw audiences make him a standout in Hollywood, and now, with $6 billion in global earnings, he’s cemented his place among the biggest stars of all time.
