Sonic 2's Latest Poster Parodies The Batman
03 Mar 2022 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
Let's face it. Promotion a movie is part of the deal. The more you do it, hopefully, the more people will attract to the theaters. Tomorrow "The Batman" will premiere and because of that a brand new "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" teaser trailer and poster has a Batman theme. We gotta say though: it's pretty funny!
The poster feature the iconic bat signal from the end of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie with a Hedgehog-Signal instead of a Bat-Signal. It was shared by the official Sonic movie account alongside the words "The hedgehog-symbol is not a beeper," and features the hashtag #BlueJustice, a reference to the nickname Sonic chooses for himself in the movie's latest trailer. The phrase "The hedgehog-symbol is not a beeper" is a reference to another movie in the live-action Batman series. In the Jim Carrey movie from 1995 "Batman Forever", the Dark Knight, played by Val Kilmer, says "The Bat-Signal is not a beeper" after Nicole Kidman's alluring psychiatrist Chase Meridian lures him onto a rooftop with the signal for a flirtatious late-night rendezvous.
