27th Annual People's Choice Awards
30 Nov 2000 The favorite performers in television, motion pictures and music were announced today for The 27th Annual People's Choice Awards and Jim Carrey was among the three top-voted actors in the Favorite Motion Picture Star in A Comedy category. His fellow nominees are Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler.
The award winners will be announced on Sunday, January 7, during the TV special to be hosted by Kevin James and broadcast on the CBS Television Network (9:00-11:00PM, Live ET; delayed PT).
The People's Choice Awards are voted by a special nationwide poll conducted by The Gallup Organization, using a representative sampling of more than 213 million Americans who select their favorite actors and actresses, television shows, films and musical performers. No suggestions of entries or nominees are given and pollees can vote for any TV series, film or performer they choose.
