Possible shoot location for "The Bijou"

Recently it was reported by AICN that "The Bijou" (a.k.a. "The Majestic") could be filmed on location at the Victorian Village of Ferndale, Humboldt County, North California.

Trying to find a confirmation to this rumor, we contacted Ferndale's Chamber of Commerce. We've learned that Castle Rock Entertainment's scouts have indeed been at Ferndale, meeting with business and community leaders, and told them there is a good chance principal photography for "The Bijou" will take place there in the spring.

However, there hasn't been any official confirmation from the studio so far. According to our source at the Chamber of Commerce, the movie is still in a very early pre-production stage and nothing is certain yet. Castle Rock's scouts are also investigating other possible sites on California's North Coast.

Although it's unknown to us what other places are being considered, it's clear from the pictures available at the Chamber Of Commerce site (two of which they have very kindly let us reproduce here), that the beautiful Ferndale's Historic Main Street District would be perfect to convey the 1950's ambiance required by the script.
