Jim Carrey At A David Lynch Foundation Benefit
02 May 2016 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
Two things we already know about Jim Carrey:
One, he's friend with David Lynch for quite some time and has attended many of his events.
Two, he likes to help people.
Last Saturday, April 30th, Jim joined many known guests, for 'An Amazing Night of Comedy: A David Lynch Foundation Benefit for Veterans with PTSD' in New York.
In case you don't know PTSD, it stands for "Post-traumatic stress disorder" a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event - either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event.
Unfortunately, many veterans of war have experienced this condition, and are in desperate need for help.
It's not fair that people who put themselves on the line with their lives, who are true heroes, don't get the help they deserve when they get home. So, it's our duty to help in any way that we can and we are glad to see that many people are aware of that.
Here's photos of the event and please check out our Gallery for more:
As proud as we are of Jim Carrey, if you know someone who suffers from PTSD or if you have it, please help and reach out… You are not alone in this and you can push through.
We at JCO will keep you updated as more help, hopefully comes.
