More Cast Members for TV pilot "I'm Dying Up Here"
18 Oct 2015 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
Jim Carrey is one of the executive producers of the pilot for the TV series, "I'm Dying Up Here", based on the Comedy clubs scene of the 1070's where many of the comedians we know and love have started their carrers.
So far, RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) and Ari Graynor (Bad Teacher) have joined the show. Now, more names have been attached to it:
Melissa Leo, an Academy Award winner will join, playing "the role of "Goldie," a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist and nurtures her comedians with tough love."
Sebastian Stan, who's previous work in TV included 'Once Upon a Time', will play "Clay," a funny, charming comedian on the rise, who declares irrelevancy as his biggest fear. He is idolized by his ex and fellow comedian Cassie (Ari Graynor).
And lastly (so far) Clark Duke, has joined this cast by playing "Larry," a ballsy young comedian from Boston who moves to L.A. with the hopes of making it big.
This show sets the premises of showing the audience a "behind the scenes" feel of what goes on, and who these people are. If the pilot is picked-up to series, Leo and Duke would appear as series regulars, Stan would guest star.
We are very excited for this show and we can't wait to see it!
We at JCO will keep you updated as more news come.
