14 May 2015 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
Of all the movie festivals around the world, the Cannes Movie Festival is, by far, one the most important and known of them all. Every year many movies are presented and apreciated. But this festivel isn't just about seeing movies, it's also about new projects.
There's a place in this festival for buyers in the industry to be interested in some projects not only to distribute but even to make them a reality in the first place.
"Some of them will be finished films, but a lot more will be based on sizzle reels, or even scripts with talent attachments."
The website Deadline shared an article with a list of many movie projects and one of them, kinda jump at us.
The project is called "True Crimes". The Director is Alexandro Avranas and Jim Carrey is set as cast in this story about what happen when a murder investigation of a slain business man turns to clues found in an author's book about an eerily similar crime. The movie is based on David Grann's 2008 New Yorker article. Mister Smith selling.
We will be very exicted if this project goes forward, since we have never seen Jim doing any character like that!
We at JCO will keep you posted as more news come.
