08 Dec 2011 By Lucas Allen (Web correspondent)
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, James Gandolfini (formerly Tony Soprano from The Sopranos) has joined the cast of the new comedy "Burt Wonderstone" with Steve Carrell and Jim Carrey. He will play a billionaire owner of a Las Vegas casino. The actor has met with magicians and different casino owners while researching the part.
In the film, Carrell plays the title character, a washed-up Las Vegas magician who tries to make a comeback while competing with a rival magician (played by Carrey). Two more actors previously joined the film including Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) as Wonderstone’s former magic partner, and Olivia Wilde (Cowboys & Aliens) as Wonderstone’s assistant and love interest.
This will be Carrell and Carrey’s third movie together after 2003’s "Bruce Almighty" and 2008’s "Horton Hears a Who!". Filming begins next month in Las Vegas.
