14 Feb 2011 By Tommy Pihl (JCO Editor-In-Chief)
We have got information that Jim Carrey will continue filming of his upcoming family comedy "Mr. Popper's Penguins" today in New York City.
The production is filming at 47th and 6th/7th (Times Square scene with Penguins) and around 58th and Park. They are using real Penguins roughly for half the movie. The rest will be CGI.
Tom Popper (Jim Carrey), a New York real estate developer who tears down beloved landmarks (like Tavern on the Green) and erects cookie-cutter skyscrapers in their place. His one-track mind-set leaves him estranged from his family, including his wife (Carla Gugino), who has divorced him and moved on to a new relationship. And for years he has been out of contact with his “kooky” father, who leaves him with an unusual inheritance: a penguin. The bewildered Popper registers a complaint which is met with the arrival of another five birds.
