As I was in Wal Mart I kept hearing "People are Strange" in my head. Wal-Mart will do that to you sometimes. Where was God for Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain?

maybe they are happier where they are now...they both seemed a little too tortured here. i really think some people were only meant to be on earth a short while.

But ask yourself..........if they hadn't poisoned their bodies with all those chemicals and drugs etc would they still be alive today?...........perhaps they weren't meant to go...........but they were so poisoned their poor bodies couldn't take it............
I guess i'm being puritanical cause i've never done drugs........

if they hadn't used free-will and poisoned themselves maybe they would have started putting out so much stuff that sucked that we wouldn't remember all the great stuff they did. also, it was because of those drugs, i feel, that created some of the inspiration for the songs. Jim morrison (whom i love) was well on his way to being a fat washed up rocker when he died. we'll never know the what would have happened if they had lived but i see it as what if they didn't die - how would things have changed just in the music industry. that would be interesting. also, i LOOOOVVVEE the foo fighters and they would not be the band they are if dave grohl would have been stuck in nirvana - sure dave got press in the beginning because he was in nirvana but i disagree with you because i think the band just plain ROCKED so the merit they got from then on, they earned. (side note: do you have the new 2 cd release "in your honor" one is rockin' the other accoustic - it's very tasty!) (sorry, just a big fan of the foo)
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! You look better than Courtney on her best day! The only comparison is the blonde hair. I would've smacked 'em! I've been going through my own "meaning of life" lately. (Mid-life crisis sans Camaro.) What I've learned it we all drive our own train, either we stay the course or derail. It's what causes us to make the decisions we make it what is at question. That is the hardest riddle to solve.
I guess so, but a midlife crisis at 35 is as unfair as zits at 35. And then I see a "Dateline" about the guy who cut his own arm off just to live. Just to live. And I think, "What right do I have to whine about anything...?" Why must I put myself through existential angst instead of just enjoying life? Are the confines of religion there to comfort us, or to reign us in from being truly happy? And then my cousin's girlfriend gave me a pamphlet like thing on metaphysics and "The Handmaid's Tale". So I think, "Is this me? Is she telling me I'm the handmaid?" I do a lot of waiting on and taking care of other people. I guess the answer is that I don't take care of ME enough. And I'm getting tired.

Whoa!............slow down on the questioning.........THAT WILL mess you up big time...........
learn to let go and 'go with the flow'.............enjoy life as it happens.........marvel at it..........DON'T analysise everything....you'll take the joy out of it.............
Particulary pay attention to the little stuff like nature...a kiss from your gran etc...............leave the existentialism be for the time being..........and just concentrate on enjoying stuff.............. you'll see..............it'll all fall into place..........

If the mind thinks these things, it will make you tired. Or viceversa. Personally a 10 minute 'meditation' in the day helps me a lot. It makes a huge difference in the way things look to me. This meditation experiment works for me - I imagine that I'm staring at myself....not a word or thought or movement... its like being suspended in space....a corner that nothing can touch. Then if somebody calls me a handmaid I think 'no, mate, I'm god's child.... like you and everyone else' --

No kidding. I'm a gigantic knot. Literally. But hopefully I will unwind as the day goes on. Otherwise I'll find myself in "forced rest" again. Today is the Live8 concert right? And I think they've got it right this time. Maybe I'll just try to enjoy that. Right now....I think I'll try some of Neeta's meditation. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

Me too except i don't understand why i feel it............except i always have......
sometimes it feels as though something a bit spiritual is pulling my strings.........only i don't know who, and sometimes i don't know why......but the reason usually eventually becomes clear.......and it's usually a really positive experience........... 
.........but i don't want to sound like some kooky, flaky bird............cause i've felt like this for most of my life...........i'm searching.....i just need to figure out what for...........
