Overstock.com has 2 version of LIAR LIAR on sale. The first is a full-screen. The second seems to be a widescreen collector's edition-preferable.

I saw the movie again this week....just great comedic acting. Someone mentioned that he would be great in a silent movie and I fully agree. There are moments in this film where he doesn't have any dialogue's and let's his eyes speak. I cannot think of any other actor who can carry off comedy and drama both so well.

I rented 'The Majestic' this week. And since there is no topic with this movie, I'll post it here.
Overall I really liked this movie a lot.

To get to the cons first - the first half, there are many pauses and just silence sometimes. After thinking a lot about what was not working for me, I found that the background score was the same throughout - nostalgic and sober!, except for the date between Pete and Adele when they run to the lighthouse and the piano gets lively (that is the same tune I hear in ESOTSM. I like it.) It took me three viewing to get it that most of the first half is actually amusing, so why did they keep it serious or understated?? Also, I would have made Pete's character more lively and shallow in the first half and gradually build up the seriousness.

Also, I had to get used to a movie with Jim in it, and where other many characters are equally as big.

The sets were amazing. Performances by everyone was great. Landau, Holden, everybody. The deathbed scene takes the cake for me too, quirky. Also the speech before the committee. 'Luke's America is big' and all. I've always regarded soldiers very highly.... a country, freedom, democracy rests on their sacrifices.... we so often forget. By the time he was reading the First Amendment and saying 'people like Luke and the sons of Lawson', I was mush.

This would have been my favorite movie if I didn't have a soft corner for comedy:)

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I don't know how anyone *can't* like it. :)
