How can multiplication of a number (positive or negative) by itself result in a negative number ? Not possible according to me.
If it is 1:00 pm PST Tuesday, what is the day and time in Vladivostok? For all the chronologists out there, unlike me.....

You're absolutely correct! You can't root out a negative number! You win the prize! Unless, of course, you factor out an "imaginary" factor of -1. Then you can. Then the answer is about 1.41421 i... roughly.
And that's all the time we have for math class we have for today, folks!
(Sorry. I just got done with a semester of college algebra and my head is releasing it all right now. Ugh.  )

Thanks for the apology. My worst nightmare is someone vomiting math, but I have a tremendous respect for anyone that's GOOD at it!
