hello all,
I don't remember the end of the film well and I don't understand the spyglasses... the kids became apart of the spyglass group that puts out fires?
Aren't fires good, (yes they are!) and spyglasses are owned by the eyes so wtf? I know this is cryptic but so is this film...
ohhhhhhhh...
Do you guys know anything about the spyglasses?
Thanks!
A sequel - I'll write it!

the spyglasses were items that all the members in whatever "club, organization" (or something) had. Everyone in that picture had a spyglass. . . understand?

I look at the spyglass in comparison to a class ring, everyone from the
same class has one, I don't think just the good guys have spyglasses,
I think even the bad ones have them too. Some good guys turned bad,
I think. But who knows what else the spyglass can do, is it just an
ordinary spyglass or more??????

I see them as maybe spying on people, that would be rather upsetting, too many freedoms are nearly gone though most people are not aware... the other day I stepped out of my subway and in this hallway there was a giant black orb camera and I was thinking "why exactly is this needed to be HERE?!"
I like camping to get away from it all, it needs to be cleaned up. Yet, maybe people use cameras to fight cameras, I'm not sure...

For catching criminals I think it's a great idea, but for someones
amusement to see people in their privacy, I think it is wrong.

ok. . . so the spyglasses were symbolism for count olaf's bad ways of keeping up with the children.
i didn't say that only the good guys had spyglasses. I'm sure they were all good in thebeginning and that some turned bad and all. just wanted to keep things straight. I just said that they're little club all had spyglasses. and yes, Count Olaf spied on people for his amusement (in the movie).
